Pavel Durov To Bring A New Blockchain Project to the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos
Vkontakte Founder Pavel Durov will introduce his TON (Telegram Open Network) blockchain platform and GRAM Token at the World Economic Forum to be held on 22-25 January in Davos. The TON project is to be officially launched in the 2nd half of 2019.
TON blockchain platform will give a run for the Ethereum (ETH) network’s money, as it is designed to run both the decentralized applications and smart contracts. TON is a decentralized network consisting of a master chain (main blockchain) and 292 sidechains.
During the Initial Coin Offer (ICO), the TON project has raised a record-breaking $1.7 billion investment. Programmers started working on a GRAM Token in 2018, and in November, the startup leadership announced that the TON platform was 70% ready. According to the unnamed source, the TON blockchain is already being tested, and the network is to be fully launched in the 2nd half of 2019.
The WEF key topics will be globalization and interaction procedures during the fourth industrial revolution. According to fintech experts, Pavel Durov will present his crypto project, which is aimed at decentralizing the economy and creating a new generation payment system. The Vkontakte Founder attended the Forum last year, but he did not present any new developments. But now, when his new blockchain project is almost ready, Pavel may surprise the conference participants.
