Ethereum Futures Trading Kicks Off On Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME)

- Ethereum futures have started trading on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). Information about this appeared on the blog of the trading platform.
- The launch of trading took place on Monday, January 8, at 2 am Moscow time. The settlement of transactions with financial instruments will be carried out in cash.
- For the first time, information that CME plans to organize trading in Ethereum futures appeared on the network in December 2020.
The exchange offered users monthly contracts for 50 ETH. As of Monday morning, their cost is about $ 78 thousand. The minimum entry threshold is 5 contracts.
- The liquidity providers for the CME Ethereum futures are BlockFi, Galaxy, Genesis, CoinShares, and NYDIG.
