Coinbase President Advises A Long-Term Cryptocurrency Investments
On December 20, CNBC conducted an interview with the president of Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange Asiff Hirji. The head of the major cryptocurrency company shared his opinion on the future of the digital assets market and summed up the outgoing 2018.
According to Hirji, the bearish trend in the cryptocurrency market did not come as a surprise to him. In 2017, on the wave of HYIP, Coinbase warned investors about the high risk of a cryptocurrency drop, as their cost was artificially high.
Hirji believes that Bitcoin and Ethereum are the main cryptocurrencies. At the moment, there are more 2.800 digital assets, however, according to Asiff, only 200 of them are interest to investors. Coinbase will gradually add trading pairs with the most popular coins and will begin to provide services to the widest possible range of traders.
The President of Coinbase noted the institutional clients have a growing interest in cryptocurrencies. In 2018, the maximum number of companies (several hundred) was recorded that use the Coinbase cryptocurrency storage service. When choosing an exchange, large traders pay attention to 3 main factors: the reliability of the trading platform, the level of security of the cryptocurrency depository and liquidity. Hirji claims that Coinbase is ahead of the competition in these parameters.
Hirji is confident that the year 2019 will be the optimal time to enter the digital asset market. According to him, it is necessary to make long-term investments and focus on the development of cryptoindustry in the future.
